Hey friends! I'm Preeti from Bangalore. Thank You for stopping by my blog. I am fond of crafts and that's the reason i started with Creative Gift Ideas where i put in my handmade crafts like scrapbooks, greeting cards and more! I would love to take your opinions. Mail me at email@example.com
Its the wedding season and i am more than happy to get my first Big Order for personal invitations!! :)
Actually its my friend who liked my work a lot but never thought that personal invites could be handmade. On her tour to sultan pet ( where there are all the invitation card shops) she found nothing that matched her taste as well as unnique. She called me up asking could I help her and landed up choosing one of my invitation cards.
Here's a look of the sample card i made!!
She loved the card! especially the tag. But she wanted a traditional touch to it.
Here's what we came up with. Both Traditional and Casual!!
The inside border was made by sticking ribbon. Flowers from itsy bitsy were used. I tied the card with a thread which is called Mauli in rajasthani language.
Looks like its been long since i posted something on the blog! :) Well, here i come again with a scrapbook.
Its the wedding season and i had to attend a friend's wedding, but i had no gift prepared ! I instantly planned of making a scrapbook. Well, i made it in just half a Day! It was my record that i made a book in such less time! :)
Here's the book, Pink and Black outside. Keeping in mind that it was a wedding gift, i made the book where my friend could stick pitures of both of them.
The front is glittery with the glitter paper and the glitter ribbon. The Glitter on the ribbon is not seen clearly in the photograph.
I kept the pages inside simple so that they could add on their creativity.. ;) ( another reason was that i didn't have any photographs in hand ;) ).
After so much scrapbooking, I wanted to try out something else. I always found quilling to be beautiful! So here's my first quilling project. Quilling is fun and not as easy as it looks. This is a wall hanging i made for my room.
I again have a kidz Project ( well, can't help but post these. I love the kids work)
These are Books what i taught the kids. They happiliy did the selecting, cutting, desgning the page and sticking. They love to chose colours. You can see there are two books with the same pattern paper. Well, it was the siblings choice. They liked that yellow paper a lot!
This is the inside of the book. I didn't want to complete things for the kids so kept things simple. Their mom's surely liked the books a lot :) and well the kids were as usual happy. Crafting! :D
You must have seen in my earlier posts that my posts are very short. That's mainly because of 2 reasons. One, I'm always in short of time and two, i am always confused as to what to write :D. So today since i've some time with me i'm trying to explain in detail what i've done to this scrapbook page.
I made this layout as part of my sister's holiday Scrapbook. I have made this page inspired by the Pixie Paper DUst Challenge. I love the way the pictures were taken and thought of adding them up in a page. It says something.. I guess each one of us have a different perspective of this. I punched out a circular yellow paper and stuck inside a pink circular paper. the punched pieces are stuck on the borders of the page. Added a pink bow at the top left to match the pink circle. The hearts are cut out from a patterned paper.
I still feel there's something missing in this page.. Can you suggest me something? ;)
Finally I'm done with the rest of the tags, I kept them simple (as was the requirement of the photo book)
Here have a look..
These are total of 10 tags attached to the photo book. There is enough space to write down things like dates, memories etc. I didn't write anything like 'Smile' ' Love' or 'Cherish' since i've made it for someone else.
Making tags is fun. I only used some card board, patterned paper, glitter pens and silver ribbons.
Here's a simple tag i made for the a Photo Album I'm making. I plan to make more 9 to add on to the 50 page large album! I shall soon put the pictures of the album as well. All the pages have division to stick four photographs so there's not much to show.
Another way i thought of using this tag was to place it on a butter paper before the page with photographs. Here's how that will look.
I love the colour Yellow. It is bright, and blends with almost all colours. I put this particular page of the album first because i like the yellow in it :)
I will soon be back with the rest of the scrapbook pages. They are more or less similar. But, this one particular layout is the one i like the most.
I used a pink cardboard, Yellow Handmade Paper, wooden buttons and baker's twine ( Kavitha gifted me the baker's twine on some purchase :)) Some patterned paper along with blue cardboard and a red ribbon.
Firstly, I'm so so very happy that i was amongst the top 3 At Frosted Design Challenge 26. It almost made whole of my week. :) Actually there were more things to make my week a great one. I got my pigment inks and the Echo Park patterned paper! Lovely!
I was busy preparing a scrapbook for my sister. I'm almost done with her holiday scrapbook. Phew, it was tiring. But i had lots of fun experimenting new tricks in her album (Well, she would be really angry if she knew about me experimenting on her book, but its ok because i guess the layouts have turned out to be pretty fine!! :) ) Since there were a large number of pictures i chose to put them together in a folder. Yet the folder was not enough :(. But, i smartly (well i can't stay without praising myself. Sorry!) divided the singapore segment into another smaller album. I still have to finish that book. I'm hoping it to be a good one.
SO here's the front of the book. I was so excited by the new challenge at the Frosted Design Challenge 27 that i used it on the front of the folder. Have a look.
I used jute to cover the folder. Some hadmade paper flowers, ribbon and tags did the rest! I love the first picture which is cut in three parts.
This is how the folder looks.
I shall soon put up the rest of the pages of the inside of this album. Since i still have some uncompleted work and photography is another task, i will indeed take some time. Until then let me know how this looks.
I'm so excited. There's so much happening! I've a Craftsia Store now. Look into the side bar for more details.
I have lesser time for making newer things with Diwali coming up. I happened to redesign this book i had made.
I'm so glad that I was finally able to redesign this little book of mine.
It is made of red felt. Inside there are 10 sheets of black cardboard where you can place pictures and tag them or just speak your heart!
I used flowers from itsybitsy and stuck ribbon flowers on them with buttons. Decoratived with buttons and pearls and the butterflies again from itsy bitsy. Orange Lace has given a beautiful finish to the book.
Since so many days i was planning to make the easel card for the ICR challenge. Finally I've made one 'Be Mine' Easel Card. I chose the red, pink and white combination. Safer, because i've tried this combination earlier.. ;)
What happens when you're in short of time and need some card just in time for a party? Here's what i did-
Picked up a chipboard (or you could pull out the hard cardboard from inside an old invitation card). Wrapped it with a nice gift wrapping paper. Cut out the lettering ( Say Happy Birthday or Congratulations) from a magazine. Note that the letters must be of varied sizes, colours and styles.. That Should be easy!! :) Then I stuck these letters using a double sided tape but keeping in mind that they are not lined up. Added some ribbons, flowers and a box with some more writing!! To make it a hanging one, either add a keychain ring behind or stick ribbons.
I've been busy making one big scrapbook of my sister's big holiday trip so i'm not getting time to make other things. I will soon put few pictures of the scrapbook!! For now i made a quick Thank You card. A Simple one. Red card with silver and white ribbons, stamping and a pamphlet's paper pieces.
I've not been able to make a lot of stuff due to lack of time. But i managed to make this small box to keep my office supplies like paper clips, post it notes, pen drives etc. Its simple and keeps my things in place. I Love Origami!! It has always made my work easier!!
